A conference hub with offices. €18.5m loan to refinance this ‘alternative asset class’.
One of our first successful closings: the refinancing of this large conference and event center with adjoining hotel and office buildings. We assisted one of the leading Dutch fund and asset managers to secure refinancing of their previous bank loans.
PolarReal was engaged by a leading Amsterdam based fund and asset manager to arrange the refinancing of senior debt on one of their funds. Prior to our engagement the fund had already approached traditional funders, but those were not able to assist them with refinancing due to the asset class.
One of the first Dutch transactions outside the traditional banking sector
We were able to secure a 5 year loan from a London based debt fund who were entering the Dutch market at the time. The alternative asset class and the specific market segment meant we could add significant value by providing extensive analysis on the market, the asset and the sector.
With the fund structure being a Dutch limited partnership (CV), the legal teams were required to devise specific legal solutions within the LMA framework.
